SERVICES:
RESEARCH

Research is the backbone of Heritage Mississauga.

Heritage Mississauga undertakes several research projects each year, thanks in large part to the assistance of our summer students and internship students. In addition, we have a large array of resources available for consultation on local history, and can also help to guide research inquiries.

Some of the research projects that we have undertaken, all with a focus on historic Mississauga, include: Japanese Internment, the Chinese Exclusion Act, War of 1812, Rebellion of 1837, Fenian Raids, Northwest Rebellions, First World War, Early Black Settlement History, First Nations Treaties, Confederation, Women’s Suffrage Movement, Stories of Crime and Punishment, and many more!

We are always available to assist with guidance, resources, or to answer inquiries on the fascinating history of Mississauga! Further, we are happy to help teachers and educators inject local history into their lessons.

HOW IT WORKS:

Step 1: Contact [email protected] or drop by The Grange office for any research inquiries relating to Mississauga’s history. No question is too big or too small!

Step 2: Chat with our Resource Centre staff either via email, phone or in person. Some inquiries may be answered quickly, while others may need a little more investigation.

Step 3: You get answers! And the best part? You pay nothing. Yup, that’s really it!
