IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE MISSISSAUGA

CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE

Author: Marian M. Gibson

Published by: Mississauga Heritage Foundation (Heritage Mississauga), 2006

This book chronicles the story of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, from pre-contact history along the north shores of Lake Huron to the Credit River years, from treaties with the British Crown to rise of the Credit Mission Village, and the establishment of New Credit near Hagersville to the resurgent Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation culture today. This book explores and recognizes the Indigenous ties to the land on which the City of Mississauga stands today. Publication of this book would not have been possible without the support of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Margaret Sault, Professor Donald Smith and Heritage Mississauga researcher Paul Maki. The book also incorporates images from the Creation Mural in the Lloyd S. King Elementary School Library at New Credit that highlights the story and journey of the Mississaugas.
